Two treatments in one device.
The new AeroPEP Plus™ Valved
Holding Chamber ("VHC") is a combination valved holding chamber and
positive expiratory pressure ("PEP") device for your COPD and asthma
patients. The device can be used as a PEP device alone or in conjunction with
the delivery of aerosolized medication from a metered dose inhaler (pMDI) as
prescribed by a physician or health care provider.
Additional patient benefits.
PEP therapy can reduce air trapping in asthma and
COPD and can be used as a substitute for pursed-lip breathing. Additionally, PEP
therapy promotes bronchial hygiene, improves bronchodilation, and can be used to
treat atelectasis.
Advanced valve system.
An adjustable orifice PEP device is built into
the chamber exhalation valve. The aerosol delivery and PEP therapy features
operate independently and do not interfere with each other.
Six PEP settings.
The new AeroPEP
Plus™ VHC features six PEP settings
that allow the caregiver to prescribe the appropriate resistance level. A
removable adapter to attach a pressure manometer is included to determine an
initial setting.
