Laser
Diffractometer
Laser diffraction is a preferred method for particle size analysis of nebulized aerosols and has been in this field for a number of years. The method is well established and relies on the fact that particles scatter light at angles in inverse proportion to their size. Laser diffraction systems can measure over a wide dynamic range and have the flexibility to accommodate a variety of sample formats, including liquids, slurries, dry powders and sprays.
The Mastersizer X has been designed to measure particles in the size range 0.1 to 2000µm in a single instrument. The system provides fully automated measurement, with sample analysis reduced to almost single button operation.
